video generation just became a control game. kuaishou’s kling 4.0, out sept 28, hits 30-second single-pass generation with up to 10 keyframe inputs, and luma’s ray3 followed with the first hdr video model.
the frontier moved from “looks real” to “does what i direct.”
Context
Verified source: invideo's Kling 4.0 page says the model brings up to 30-second generation, 10 keyframes and output up to 4K, double Kling 3.0's length. Luma's Ray page now lists up to 16 keyframes per clip and native 16-bit HDR for its newer Ray model, and Vidofy's Ray3 page describes native HDR with EXR output.
The Luma page names Ray3.2 as its newest model.
The 30 seconds and the 10 keyframes match invideo's description of Kling 4.0. The Sep 28 release date, the sequence in which Luma's Ray3 followed Kling, and 'the first HDR video model' were not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted. The Vidofy listing is dated Jan 27, 2026, which suggests Ray3's HDR predates Kling 4.0, but a listing date is not a release date. 'The frontier moved from looks real to does what I direct' is the author's opinion.
