tiktok’s enforcement against unlabelled ai content rose 340% versus 2024, with 51,618 pieces of synthetic media removed in the second half of 2025 alone, and youtube is now demonetising what it calls “inauthentic content”. seven major platforms converged on the same rule within months: no human input, no feed placement.
the platforms that trained the world to generate content are now policing how much of it is generated.
Context
Storrito reports TikTok pulled down 51,618 synthetic media videos in the second half of 2025, a 340% increase over the same period in 2024, and permanently banned 8,600 accounts for AI-related violations. Dynamoi repeats the 340% and 51,618 figures.
YouTube's inauthentic content policy, updated Jul 15, 2025 when it renamed the repetitious content policy, makes repetitive and mass-produced videos ineligible for monetization. Umbrella Creators notes it does not ban AI as a tool.
The TikTok figures match Storrito and Dynamoi, and they cover the second half of 2025, so they are not new this month. YouTube's policy demonetizes mass-produced content, including AI-generated templates, and is not an AI ban. That seven major platforms converged on one rule within months was not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted. 'The platforms that trained the world to generate content are now policing how much of it is generated' is the author's opinion.
