The trash is now being sorted by eye

Yethikrishna ROriginal on Threads

the trash is now being sorted by eye: a guangzhou sorting line hits 99.5 percent accuracy across 260 material types with a hundred percent unmanned operation, robots on recycling lines handle 60 to 100 items a minute, and tomra’s new platform takes sorting instructions in plain language.

the sorter is the fastest learner on the line.

Context

Justra's pages say its Guangzhou household waste sorting line runs 100 percent unmanned, with AI and hyperspectral recognition reaching 99.5 percent accuracy across more than 260 material types. China.com carried the case on Jun 3, 2026, after CCTV coverage.

Justra lists the ULTRASORT optical sorters and FLEXSORT AI robots in the line.

How it compares

The 99.5 percent accuracy, 260 material types and unmanned operation match Justra's own pages, so they are vendor figures. Robots handling 60 to 100 items a minute and Tomra's plain-language instructions were not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted.
