The timeline is becoming a text document
the timeline is becoming a text document: descript cuts a thirty-minute recording to twelve in fifteen minutes by deleting sentences from a transcript, removes every filler word in one click, and overdubs a misspoken line in your own cloned voice. editing stopped being about the footage.
it is now about the words.
Context
Descript lets users edit audio and video by editing a transcript. Its help center describes detecting and removing filler words such as um and uh, and Overdub clones your own voice so you can fix a line by typing it.
Descript says Overdub is available on all plans.
Transcript editing, one-click filler removal and cloned-voice overdub match Descript's own pages. The thirty minute recording cut to twelve in fifteen minutes was not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted. It reads as a vendor-style example, not a measured result.
