the thread is now being designed by machine: ai weaving in china lays down 55 million weave points per square meter of silk for gradient patterns, assisted design spins out thousands of new motifs in minutes, and 54 percent of textile mills now run ai tools, up from 18 percent in 2022.
the loom learned to dream.
Context
Texnet reported in Nov 2025 that Kaixiya showed a 9-metre AI-woven Fuchun Mountain scroll at the China International Import Expo, made of 100 percent silk with over 200 million weave points and one black yarn, with an AI algorithm adjusting the weave points. Wensli's AI silk scarves go from design to product in as little as 2 hours.
Wensli has used AI in design since 2018.
AI weaving of silk with weave points set by an algorithm matches Texnet. The 55 million weave points per square meter, the thousands of motifs in minutes and the 54 percent of mills using AI tools, up from 18 percent in 2022, were not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
