The streaming catalog is now mostly machine

Yethikrishna ROriginal on Threads

the streaming catalog is now mostly machine: 90,000 ai-generated tracks arrive on deezer every day, over half of all uploads, yet they make up 1 to 3 percent of listening and 85 percent of their streams were flagged as fraud, so tidal now pays them nothing.

the machines are producing for each other.

Context

Deezer said on Jul 21, 2026 that 90,000 AI-generated tracks a day now make up over 50 percent of new uploads at the June peak. TechCrunch and Music Business Worldwide carried the figure, and Deezer says it began detecting, tagging and excluding AI music in 2025.

Digital Music News says Deezer calls them fully AI-generated tracks.

How it compares

The 90,000 tracks a day and over half of uploads match Deezer. The share is for new uploads at peak, not the catalog. The 1 to 3 percent of listening, the 85 percent of streams flagged as fraud and Tidal paying them nothing were not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted.
