The open-source leaderboard now reads like a chinese ranking

Yethikrishna ROriginal on Threads

the open-source leaderboard now reads like a chinese ranking: every top-six entry on artificial analysis’s open intelligence index is a chinese model, with glm-5.2 at 51, while meta’s muse glimmer runs agentic coding on a single consumer gpu at 233 tokens a second. alibaba says its next system will open-weight at 2.4 trillion parameters.

the frontier is getting cheaper by the quarter, not by the year.

Context

Artificial Analysis said on Jun 16, 2026 that GLM-5.2 was the new leading open weights model on its Intelligence Index, with a score of 51. Its current open-source page lists Kimi K3 and GLM-5.3 as the highest-intelligence open models, followed by Qwen3.8 2.4T A95B.

Meta released Muse Glimmer on Aug 10, 2026, a 30 billion parameter model for local agent workflows that needs about 24 GB of VRAM. Alibaba released the full weights of Qwen3.8-2.4T-A95B on Aug 12, 2026.

How it compares

GLM-5.2 at 51 and Meta's Muse Glimmer on a single consumer GPU match their sources. The list has moved: Artificial Analysis now shows newer entries above GLM-5.2. Alibaba's 2.4 trillion parameter open weights were released Aug 12, 2026, so 'will open-weight' is already past. All top six being Chinese and 233 tokens a second were not seen.
