The note is becoming a database

Yethikrishna ROriginal on Threads

the note is becoming a database: goodnotes turns handwriting into flashcards that stay linked to the original page, mem files your notes automatically as a proactive agent, and notebooklm only answers from sources you give it. capture is no longer the hard part, retrieval is.

the second brain is only as good as its indexes.

Context

Google's NotebookLM Help says flashcards and quizzes are generated from the sources you upload to a notebook. Goodnotes has study sets and Smart Learn, which orders flashcards by how difficult you find them.

NotebookLM added flashcards and quizzes in 2025, per Google's blog.

How it compares

Flashcards from your own material in NotebookLM and Goodnotes match the sources. Goodnotes turning handwriting into flashcards linked to the original page, Mem filing notes automatically as a proactive agent, and NotebookLM answering only from your sources were not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted.
