The last wall between retail investors and autonomous money fell
the last wall between retail investors and autonomous money fell: robinhood’s agents research companies and execute trades on conditions you set, with loops coming so they keep working while you sleep, and origin’s ai advisor just scored 98.3% on the cfp exam, the test licensed human planners must pass. wealthfront’s tax-loss harvesting adds about 1% a year on its own.
the advice is now cheaper than the advisor.
Context
Robinhood unveiled Robinhood Agents at HOOD Summit 2026 (Sep 29, 2026), an embedded AI experience; its support pages say you can chat with an agent to research investments, analyze your portfolio and place trades, and that you can review what it is about to do.
Origin's blog says its advisor AI averages 98.3 percent on CFP exam sample questions, in an internal study, against about 75 percent for the pass-rate baseline.
The agents that research and trade match Robinhood's pages. The 98.3 percent is Origin's own internal benchmark on sample questions, not the licensing exam itself, so 'scored on the exam licensed planners must pass' is stronger than the source. The loops that work while you sleep and Wealthfront's roughly 1 percent a year were not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted. Wealthfront's white paper (Apr 27, 2026) describes historical results of its tax-loss harvesting service.
