The lake is now reading its own chemistry

Yethikrishna ROriginal on Threads

the lake is now reading its own chemistry: bloomnet forecasts harmful algae hourly up to 72 hours out with risk levels instead of yes or no, nasa fuses multiple satellites to spot blooms off florida and california, and lake okeechobee gets ai-guided phosphorus cleanup.

the water now issues its own health bulletins.

Context

Newswise and The Microbiologist report BloomNet, an interpretable deep learning framework that forecasts harmful algal blooms at hourly resolution up to 72 hours ahead and shows how risk changes over time. The University of Florida's Center for Coastal Solutions describes LOONE forecast and planning tools for Lake Okeechobee.

NOAA's operational HAB forecasting system covers current bloom conditions and short-term forecasts.

How it compares

BloomNet's hourly, 72 hour forecasts match the sources. The NASA multi-satellite detection off Florida and California and the AI-guided phosphorus cleanup were not seen in the excerpts read, so unsupported here, not refuted. LOONE is a nutrient export planning tool.

'the water now issues its own health bulletins' is the author's opinion.
