My Steel reported that Baosteel's AI smart blast furnace went online worldwide-first on Apr 3, 2026 at the Baoshan base, with molten iron tapped at launch. Huawei's pages describe the Xuantie Steel Model from Liuzhou Steel, Huawei and China Mobile.
Huawei also describes Baowu's use of AI models on the blast furnace since 2024.
The Baosteel launch and the Liuzhou Xuantie model match the sources. The 10 million yuan a year saving per furnace and 5 kilograms of carbon per ton were not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted. The launch is dated Apr 3, 2026.
