The fish is now being asked to report its own size

Yethikrishna ROriginal on Threads

the fish is now being asked to report its own size: a solar powered camera system watches behavior, water quality and feeding in real time, underwater stereo rigs estimate fish weight straight in the cage, and a mamba temporal network forecasts growth across iot farms.

the school now files its own biomass.

Context

A PLOS One paper from Jun 18, 2026, A deep learning-based automated Solar-Powered Fish Monitoring System, describes a green fish farming setup. A Scientific Reports paper describes an affordable tool for automatic fish length and weight estimation in mariculture, and an older stereo vision system estimates biomass in fish farms.

A 2026 paper, IoT-Based Smart Fish Farming and Aquaculture Monitoring Framework through Mamba and Temporal Convolutional Network, forecasts in IoT aquaculture.

How it compares

The solar-powered monitoring, stereo biomass estimation and Mamba plus temporal convolution forecasting match the sources as separate studies. 'Behavior, water quality and feeding' and 'straight in the cage' were not confirmed in the excerpts read, so they are unsupported here, not refuted.

'The school now files its own biomass' is the author's wordplay and opinion.
