The box is now being designed for manufacture
the box is now being designed for manufacture: ai in packaging grows from 3.2 to 9 billion dollars by 2034, 73 percent of companies will raise ai spend by 2027, and variable data printing makes every box a unique 1:1 print without slowing the line.
the package is becoming a conversation.
Context
Fortune Business Insights values the AI in packaging market at 2.84 billion dollars in 2025, growing from 3.20 billion in 2026 to 9.03 billion by 2034. PMMI said on Mar 24, 2026 that more consumer packaged goods companies and OEMs are expanding AI use.
Other analysts size it differently.
The 3.2 to 9 billion dollar range through 2034 matches Fortune's report, which is a vendor estimate. Precedence Research gives 3.69 billion in 2026 and 9.49 billion by 2035, so sizes vary. The 73 percent raising AI spend by 2027 and the variable data printing claim were not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted.
