Support is the first job ai agents actually took
support is the first job ai agents actually took: sierra runs at a $10 billion valuation on $150 million arr, decagon deflected over 80 percent of tickets, and intercom’s fin crossed $100 million arr charging 99 cents per resolved conversation. openai shipped presence for enterprise billing and claims in july.
the resolution, not the ticket, is what gets priced now.
Context
Sierra said on Feb 6, 2026 that it passed $100M ARR in seven quarters (Nov 2025) and then logged a first $50M quarter, starting its third year with over $150M in ARR. Intercom's Fin was reported nearing $100M ARR in March and August 2026, on a 99 cents per resolved conversation model.
OpenAI introduced OpenAI Presence on Jul 22, 2026 for enterprises to deploy AI agents, and The Next Web (Aug 31, 2026) reports OpenAI started letting some customers pay only when the AI works.
Sierra's $150 million ARR and Fin's 99 cents per resolution match their sources. Sacra lists Sierra's valuation at $15.8 billion, not $10 billion. Decagon's over 80 percent deflection is a company-reported figure. Fin is described as nearing $100 million ARR, not crossing it, in the reports read. 'Presence for enterprise billing and claims' is not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted.
