silicon valley wants $2 trillion for anthropic’s ipo while wall street pricing sits near $1.5 trillion, and the filing shows it has committed to at least 14.8 gigawatts of compute capacity, over $500 billion across ten years.
the gap between those numbers is the whole bull and bear case in one line.
Context
Verified: a prospectus report dated Sep 28, 2026 says the public sale could value Anthropic at more than $2 trillion, that it reported a net loss of $42 billion in 2025, and plans to spend $518 billion on cloud, computing and infrastructure obligations in coming years. TechFastForward and Implicator (Sep 29) report the same $518 billion figure from the filing.
Updater News (Oct 1, 2026), citing The Information, says two large institutional investors see about $1.5 trillion as a fairer value, and that Anthropic has committed to at least 14.8 gigawatts of compute capacity.
The $2 trillion and $1.5 trillion split matches the Sep 28 and Oct 1 reports. The 14.8 gigawatts and the $500 billion-plus figure come from The Information's earlier reporting (Sep 6-7), and the filing itself states $518 billion of obligations, over a decade. The post attributes 14.8 GW to the filing; the sources read attribute it to The Information, which says Anthropic has not confirmed the aggregate. 'The gap between those numbers is the whole bull and bear case' is the author's opinion.
