export controls on gpus are quietly producing a second software stack. deepseek open-sourced its full huawei ascend toolkit today, tilelang plus compute and distributed-comm libraries, one-to-one with its nvidia lineup, a day after v3.2-exp shipped with sparse attention.
everyone watches the chips, the compiler is the real decision.
Context
Verified source: DQ India (Sep 30, 2026) reports DeepSeek open-sourced six components for Huawei's Ascend platform: TileLang, DeepGEMM, DeepEP, TileKernels, FlashMLA and DeepSelect, covering programming, computation, communication, attention, kernels and data processing.
The vLLM blog dated Sep 29, 2025 announces day-0 support for DeepSeek-V3.2-Exp with DeepSeek Sparse Attention.
The Ascend toolkit and its parts match the DQ India report, with TileLang-Ascend described as a version of TileLang tuned for Ascend NPUs. The post says V3.2-Exp shipped a day before. The vLLM post dates V3.2-Exp to Sep 29, 2025, a year earlier, so the 'day after' pairing does not hold in the sources read. 'One-to-one with its nvidia lineup' and 'the compiler is the real decision' were not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted. and are the author's view.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.
