deezer counted about 90,000 fully ai-generated songs uploaded per day in june 2026, and at peak ai made up over 50% of all new music arriving on the platform, while australia just banned purely ai-made tracks from official charts. in a blind test 97% of listeners could not tell ai songs from human ones.
the bottleneck in music is no longer production, it is discovery.
Context
TechCrunch, Music Business Worldwide and Billboard all dated Jul 21, 2026 report that Deezer says about 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks arrive daily and that AI now passes 50% of new uploads for the first time. Billboard adds that Deezer is removing AI tracks it suspects were used in streaming fraud.
ARIA moved to bar wholly AI-generated tracks from Australian charts, reported by ABC (Aug 25, 2026), Al Jazeera (Aug 25) and Reuters (Aug 26). Tracks using AI in a supporting role stay eligible. The 97% figure comes from a Deezer and Ipsos survey published Nov 12, 2025.
The 90,000 a day, the 50% share and the ARIA ban all match the sources, but the Deezer reports are dated Jul 21, 2026 and say it passed 50% for the first time, so 'at peak' and 'june 2026' were not seen in the sources read, so unsupported here, not refuted. The 97% is a survey of listeners from Nov 2025, not a fresh blind test. 'The bottleneck in music is no longer production, it is discovery' is the author's opinion.
